Who We Are

Gearheads Transmission opened its doors in April 2022, but the story started long before that.

With more than 12 years in the transmission industry, this trade has been part of our family for a long time. What started as knowledge passed down through family eventually grew into the experience, passion, and drive to build a shop of our own.

We saw too many people around Houston waiting two or three weeks for their trucks, getting poor-quality work, and being left in the dark throughout the process. We knew we could do better, so Gearheads was built around three things that still matter most to us today: transparency, honesty, and durability.

We're a family-owned and operated shop specializing in Chevy/GMC, Ford, and Dodge/Ram gas and diesel transmissions, 6-speed and up. Everything is rebuilt in-house, from stock replacements to custom performance builds up to 1,200 HP.

No two trucks or customers are the same, so we don't build transmissions like they are. We want to know what you drive, how you use it, what you're doing with it now, and what you plan to do with it later. Then we build accordingly.

And while your truck is here, you're not left wondering what's going on. We send pictures, videos, and updates throughout the process and take the time to explain what failed, why it failed, and how you can better protect your investment moving forward.

Gearheads is family owned and operated, and that family mentality carries into everything we do. We’ve built a shop where people enjoy coming to work, customers feel at home, and every truck that comes through our doors is treated with the same care and attention we’d expect for our own.
